Search and Recovery Team

| The Sheriff?s Search and Recovery Team is called to participate in numerous requests for service. The primary responsibility of the unit is to search for and recover missing persons, victims and/or evidence either on land or in the water. Although the team is not a rescue team, special situations may put the SAR Team in a rescue mode. SAR diving demands require a high degree of physical and psychological fitness, and a thorough knowledge of diving techniques and recovery procedures. In most cases, the SAR diver will be required to operate in water with zero visibility and other hazardous conditions. All members of the Sheriff's Search and Recovery Team possess a Master Diver certification. This unit has recovered numerous items of evidence during underwater searches, as well as, assisted in the recovery of drowned victims. |
