Durham,
N.C. – “In Touch with Durham County,” is a
Durham County talk show airing daily on Cable Channel 8. Michael Page, Chairman of the Durham
Board of County Commissioners and Assistant County Manager Deborah Craig-Ray are
hosts.
The show airing in February features an interview with
Durham County Commissioners’ Vice Chairman Ellen W. Reckhow about the community
engagement. Reckhow highlights the
Boards and Commissions appointed by elected officials, Durham Neighborhood
College, the East Durham Children’s Initiative and more.
Vivian Speight Bridges, state coordinator of North Carolina
Operation Lifesaver, talks about safety around railroad crossings in light of
recent car/train wrecks in Durham and Orange Counties.
The purpose of the show is to share relevant, timely
information from Durham County community partner agencies, as well as provide
interviews with elected officials, county department heads and key staff. Future topics include combating health
disparities in Durham County, 2010 Census preparations, Reducing Childhood
Obesity, and in depth interviews with leaders of county nonprofit agencies and
departments.
