This inspection data is intended only as a supplementary format of distributing general information in regards to the sanitation grades of various establishments located within Durham County. These scores are based upon a ten point scale, such that an establishment receiving a score of at least 90 percent shall be awarded a Grade A, those with scores of at least 80 percent and less than 90 percent shall be awarded a Grade B, and those with scores of at least 70 percent and less than 80 percent shall be awarded a Grade C. Permits shall be revoked for establishments receiving a score of less than 70 percent.
If an establishment requests a reinspection for the purpose of raising an alphabetical grade, an Environmental Health Specialist shall make an unannounced inspection, after a lapse of reasonable period of time, not to exceed 15 days, from the date of reinspection request.
A sanitation grade card is required to be posted in an area that is conspicuous, where it may be readily observed by the public upon entering the establishment in a location agreeable to management. Permitted food service establishment inspections are State mandated to be conducted on a risk based frequency schedule from one to four times annually. Lodging facility inspections are required to be conducted on an annual basis. Every effort has been made to enter this data correctly, however, if any mistakes are noted, or for any other questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Environmental Health Division |
