Implementing the Plan
Durham County Government is hard at work implementing the County’s Strategic Plan. After the Durham Board of County Commissioners approved the Strategic Plan in February 2012, employee teams began meeting to set priorities for the first year of implementation. The Implementation Team, which includes “Goal Champions” and executive-level county leadership, meets regularly to plan for the future. Meanwhile, goal-specific “Standing Teams” are meeting to lay out a vision for the first and subsequent years of the plan. In addition, project-based “Ad-hoc Teams” are meeting to start accomplishing priority initiatives in the plan. Durham County is steering the way with its Strategic Plan implementation.
