Design review assists in protecting downtown’s local architectural heritage and preserving the considerable economic investments that have occurred over the years. The design review process seeks to encourage renovation and new development in downtown in a manner that will promote visual harmony, historical integrity and creative design solutions.
The DDRT reviews projects in Transitional Use Area of the University-College District, projects within a Neighborhood Protection Overlay, Common Signage Plans (CSP) variations, and projects within the Downtown Design District with variation request. Reviews focus on compliance with the applicable design guidelines and ordinance standards and findings.
The DDRT meets the first and third Mondays of the month at 1:30 p.m in Conference Room GA on the ground floor of City Hall.
