Citizen Comment—Ralph McKinney
Mr. Ralph McKinney has requested time on the agenda to make comments
to the Commissioners.

Farmland Preservation
The Farmland Preservation Board will provide an update on Farmland
preservation efforts in Durham County. Topics to be discussed shall include
the following:

Transfer of Development Rights,
-
Proposed ordinance regarding the purchase, lease, and donation of conservation
easements, and
-
Summary of Farmland Retention Conference, Ohio State University,
September 10-11, 1998.

State Water and Sewer Bond Referendum
As the Board is aware, there is a vote scheduled for the November
3, 1998 election for $800 million in public money to be made available
for local governments to help in meeting their water/sewer infrastructure
needs. I have attached a brief summary fact sheet provided by NCDEHR for
your use. I will provide more specific details at your Board meeting.
